Sightsavers joins forces with two new eye health partners

Global eyewear brand My Spectacles and scientific equipment company Applied Photophysics have partnered with Sightsavers to raise funds for vital eye health work around the world.

Online retailer My Spectacles sells affordable prescription eyewear, including sunglasses and protective spectacles for diving, skiing, running and even racket sports. Recently launched in the UK, the brand will donate a percentage of each sale to Sightsavers.

Sightsavers’ second new partner, Applied Photophysics, makes scientific instruments that help researchers to develop new drugs, vaccines and other life-saving treatments. The company, which has been an innovator in laboratory technology for more than 50 years, will donate £500 to Sightsavers for every instrument ordered up until 30 June 2025.

Mohammad Shadab, global marketing manager at Applied Photophysics, said: “What better partnership could a company using light for research into biological systems choose than to help thousands of people around the world see the beauty of light?”

Sightsavers’ corporate partnership manager James Lwanda said: “It’s great to see our eye health partner package becoming popular with optical and technology businesses, and we’re thrilled to have My Spectacles and Applied Photophysics support our mission to protect sight.”
