We’ve teamed up with My Cause UK to give you the chance to volunteer your time while helping to save sight around the world.
Past volunteers have had the chance to help out at high-profile events such as British Summer Time, Lovebox and All Points East in London, We Out Here in Cambridgeshire and Boardmasters in Newquay.
To take part, just register your details to apply as a volunteer, pay your deposit (to ensure you commit to your role) and choose Sightsavers as your chosen charity. All volunteers get free entry to the festival, and shifts are allocated randomly. Once you’ve completed your volunteering experience, My Cause UK makes a donation to Sightsavers on your behalf – and you’re free to enjoy the rest of the festival.
Volunteering with your friends is a fantastic way to experience a festival while supporting Sightsavers, and My Cause UK can even guarantee that you’re working at the same time as your friends so you can enjoy the festival together.
Terms and conditions apply: check the My Cause UK website for details.
If you’d like to apply for a place volunteering at a UK festival, email events@sightsavers.org for more information.
Alternatively, visit www.mycauseuk.com to learn more about what’s involved.
There are plenty of festivals on the list, from large high-profile events to smaller regional ones. Visit the
My Cause UK website to apply. Remember to select Sightsavers as the charity you want to volunteer for.
You’ll need to pay a refundable deposit to My Cause UK to reserve your place and ensure you’re committed to your role (this helps to avoid no-shows). The price varies from £50 to £265, depending on the festival.
You’ll receive full details about your duties before the festival. Once you’ve worked your shift, you can enjoy the rest of the festival, and the money you raise will be paid direct to Sightsavers by My Cause UK.
All your gifts help to achieve our aim of changing lives for the better.
Every gift you give helps change lives for people in the world’s poorest countries. Since our work began, your donations have provided 7.3 million cataract surgeries and 423,000 trachoma operations. Our donors have also helped us to support more than 225,000 people with disabilities, enabling them to live full and independent lives.
We think it’s money well spent, and we hope you do too.
