You can help change lives this Ramadan

Your support during Ramadan is a vital opportunity to help those who are in need or less fortunate.

Each year, the Islamic month of Ramadan helps Muslims to feel closer to their faith. The Islamic calendar follows the moon’s cycle, causing the holy month to shift by about 10 days every year. This year Ramadan begins on 1 March 2025 and will end on 30 March 2025, ahead of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

Through fasting and reflection, it is a time to appreciate your family’s love, your friends’ company, and the fortune of good health. During Ramadan, it’s important to help those in need by donating time and money to charities and good causes.

During the last 10 days of Ramadan, you may need to donate to charity through zakat. One of the pillars of Islam, this is a compulsory donation based on the value of your assets. If you are unsure how much to give, we have an online zakat calculator to help.

Some Muslims also give money to charity through sadaqah jariyah or sadaqah. These are optional donations that can help demonstrate and strengthen your faith.
